comprende 073: Celebrating 2 Years of Comprende!
How a simple idea to share our stories evolved into a growing movement redefining Latino visibility in business and culture.
BIENVENIDO
Saludos! Happy Friday and welcome to Comprende, edition 073.
Today we’re celebrating Two Years of Comprende 💙🎂🥳! So we’re taking a pause from Founder stories to share a bit about the journey and make an ask to our comunidad.
This week marks two years since I hit “send” on the very first issue of Comprende.
No team. No grand strategy. Just a conviction: that Latino and Latina founders, creators, and changemakers deserved to be seen and celebrated, not as a side note, but as a positive driving force shaping the future of business, culture, and community in the U.S.

If you follow me on LinkedIn, you might’ve seen my post on Tuesday. But I wanted to take a moment here to go a little deeper.
And if your new here, or joined us recently, Hola! I’m Danny Miró-Chinea, Founder of Comprende.
I launched Comprende right after Hispanic Heritage Month on October 20th, 2025. Not because I missed the moment, but because I wanted to extend it. Every year, we see a rush of stories, campaigns, and brand activations that spotlight Latino culture…and then silence once October ends.
I wanted to prove that our stories don’t fit into a single month, they deserve to be part of the mainstream, all year long. And? I wanted to help more Latina & Latino owned businesses get discovered and supported.

Danny Miró-Chinea, Founder of Comprende.
Comprende started as a side project, curating stories of Latino entrepreneurship, culture, and impact late at night and on weekends.
And overtime? It turned into a full-time calling.A mission. And a livelihood built around storytelling that drives change.
Here’s what two years of consistency, curiosity, and community have led to:
70+ stories told with depth and data: profiling the Latina and Latino entrepreneurs, creatives, and cultural leaders building the next generation of companies, movements, and narratives.
Clients driving change: From collaborating with the Latino Donor Collaborative to share data reshaping perceptions, to working with Suma Wealth as they redefine financial wellness for our community, to helping Famosos connect brands with Latino creators who reflect who we are, Comprende has grown from storytelling into strategy, creation, and impact. And recently, Nopalera!
A year on the road: Living and working across Latin America with the very communities that inspire the stories, from Colombia to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and now Argentina, has given this project more color, context, and corazón.
Thousands reached: Across social media, LinkedIn, and inboxes, the message has resonated far beyond what I could have imagined. From speaking on panels, podcasts, events, and beyond, I’m extremely grateful to be able to tell these stories.
But the real win isn’t the number of stories or followers.
It’s the shift that’s starting to happen. The one where brands, investors, and institutions begin to see Latinos not as a demographic to include, but as a force.
That’s what Comprende was always meant to do: To replace assumptions with evidence and to turn “underrepresented” into undeniable. One story, one collaboration, one conversation at a time.
Two years in, and Comprende is no longer just a newsletter, it’s become a community, a creative and strategy studio, and a mission-driven movement that’s only growing stronger.
I’m excited to continue telling real stories of impact that reframe how we’re seen and allows people to discover new Latina & Latino owned businesses.
To everyone who’s read, shared, opened a door, or believed in what I’m building, gracias.
How You Can Support the Next Chapter
For two years, Comprende has been completely free. Every story, every insight, every edition, created to inform, inspire, and help us learn from each other. To connect Latino founders, creators, and professionals, and help our community see itself, do business with each other, and grow together.
If this newsletter has ever inspired you, taught you something new, or helped you connect with someone, we have 2 small asks:
Share it. Forward it or post about it. Every share and subscriber you invite helps this mission reach more people.
Partner with us. Beyond the newsletter, Comprende works directly with Latino founders and startups, from creative strategy and storytelling to social media and personal branding, and paid partnerships to reach Comprende’s audience. Learn more about services.
And through FAMOSOS, we power social-first end-to-end Latino and Latina influencer marketing campaigns,. We’ve worked with TelevisaUnivision, Fortune 500 companies, and emerging high growth startups like Latino-owned, Félix Pago, connecting companies with Latino audiences in ways that connect and drive conversion. Check out FAMOSOS Case Studies.
If that sounds like you, or you know someone at a brand or agency who might be interested, I’d love the referral. That’s what fuels the work and keeps this ecosystem growing.
💙 Gracias for being part of the story, and for helping me keep telling ours.
